The Green Ideas: Green Education for Green Innovation event will bring together people and institutions that are interested into agricultural, biodiversity and rural education, so that collaboration opportunities may be explored and exploited. The overall aim is to take advantage of the collective experience, good practices and software tools that various stakeholders and initiatives around the world apply in order to make relevant educational content available online, so that a Green Learning Network is conceived, set up and launched. This network will be expanding the scope and coverage of the Agricultural Learning Repositories Task Force (AgLR-TF) within the strategic alliance for Coherence in Information for Agricultural Research for Development (CIARD).
Organic.Balkanet is one of the sponsoring projects that will actively support and participate in the event, by contributing the experience gained by the project so far. Members of the GRNET team will represent the Organic.Balkanet in the Green Ideas 2011 and actively participate in the corresponding sessions.

The Green Ideas 2011 event is jointly organized and supported by a variety of initiatives and institutions, locally hosted by Agro-Know Technologies (Agro-Know, Greece), and facilitated by theInstitute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education (ISKME, USA) using the Action Collab format.
Green Ideas 2011 aims to be the first of a series of events that will focus on how green innovation may be facilitated by education and technology.
Aim
ISKME’s Action Collabs are dynamic workshops that use the design-thinking framework to innovate new ideas with actionable next steps. Collaboration and ideation happen in four steps: research, design, prototype, and scale and spread. Throughout the experience, participants engage in improv activities (the improvisational method of achieving cooperation) to accelerate meaningful collaboration that results in tangible action plans.
In Green Ideas 2011 , the Action Collab format will try to access the groups' collective brainpower by focusing creativity and structuring brainstorming in a unique method that leads to new thinking and solutions. Emphasis will be given in tackling a specific Design Challenge: How might we create collaboration opportunities for communities to share green knowledge?
